For personal purposes Baku decided to set up a [[http://www.subsonic.org|Subsonic]] music streaming service. With an Android app, it behaves just like Spotify and caches last played songs.

Due to strict firewall rules, Subsonic's standard port (4040) is unavailable. However, [[nginx]] is used as a proxy to allow access through ''music.sylphe.fr''.
Due to ''ffmpeg'' being discontinued on Debian Stable, ''avconv'' is used for transcoding.

==== Standard operation ====

Subsonic is run as a daemon with a dedicated non-privileged user. Data is not yet backed up
