An ownCloud experiment had been launched on Zebeth. However back then it had no HTTPS support, no RAID and no filesystem encryption.

After HTTPS support was added and Zebes was installed with its RAID1, the next logical step was to restart the experiment. First, the cloud service was migrated from ownCloud to NextCloud, but the latter was bad at dealing with big files like big livestream videos so baku had to revert to using ownCloud.
